violin

My secretary has an old violin given to her by her great grandfather. It is labled Anonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1732 It also has the cross with the A S

she has a second one labeled Joset Guarnerius_ feeit Cremonze ano 1778 It has an insignia with the letters IHS

And germany is written in it also.

what should we do?

If you have a violin that you are curious about you should find a qualified expert and have them evaluate it. Most sites online get this question so often that they usually put up a notice for people not to bother asking them.

No one can tell very much about your violin without examining it in person.

The one thing you SHOULDN'T do is get too excited about it. The chances of your secretary owning some expensive violins are two: Buckleys and none.
