Violin vs fiddle

Im new at the violin and I want to learn to play it.

Im planning on renting,what's the difference between a fiddle and

a violin? Also how much will an instructor cost??

A violin and a fiddle are the same instrument. "Fiddlers" play a particular style of music. Most "violinists" play classical music, but many also play fiddle music, jazz, pop--you name it.

Hi....fiddle is the English word for Violin. Violin is the Italian word for fiddle.

You play the fiddle for the square dance Saturday night...then you play the same instrument in church on Sunday and call it a violin.

Lately, a fiddle is used for country music, a violin used for classical music...the instrument is the same, only the players are different...and the type of music they play.

Cost is whatever you can afford!

The major physical difference is how the bridge is cut in both the height and contour features.

And for those smart asses who know it all - a vilin burns faster casuse it ain't loaded up within beer suds.
