David Tseng
I would appreciate receiving expert advice on how to repair a hairline crack, particularly how to force the glue into the area near the crack tip. The crack started from the right corner of the saddle and extended near the lower eye of sound hole. It was produced by accidental closing of the violin case during intermission. It is a very good quality old violin.

Regis
David, I've succesfully used Michael's method of forcing glue in with a small suction cup.
Brad Dorsey
If you separate the top/rib seam from the saddle to the corner, you can flex the crack open and closed by pulling the top away from the rib (gently to avoid extending the crack). Do this while working glue in with your finger or the suction cup. Every time you flex the crack a suction is created which draws the glue in. Also, make sure the saddle is not too long.
