Hi Andres;

Not really related... but both Italian. One is from Florence, the other Cremona. That help any? Happy to tell if you like. :-) I just enjoyed the way the light was playing on the curves of the heads (and the nice lines of the these heads didn't hurt the effect any). Hope some of what I was seeing came across in the photo.

Tim;

Like that shot! My daughter says "Hey, those bridges are awesome!"

Thanks Jeffrey. I just noticed I had one sitting in there that I didn't want in there so I took another picture with a replacement and added a couple bags of uncut bridge blanks to make the shot a little more interesting.

The head in the front is a Carcassi. The rear head is a Joseph (f. Andrea) Guarneri. The overstand is pretty appropriate for instruments with that type of arching... and seems to work very well on that particular fiddle.

Thanks for the compliment. It's tough to effectively translate scenes from eye to camera, I've found... but I thought I'd give this one a go.

Hope we get to see more benchtop pictures from some others today!

I'd like to know more about those unusual bridges please. This is the only new pic I have - unfortunately. It's someting I had to do for a magazine in which I am advertising (my furniture). They managed to take out most of the wrinkles and grey hair.

After looking at the very first photo, I would say:

1) EXCELLENT scrolls! They look gorgeous. I wonder how they sound...

2) WONDERFUL photography! If you had the same orientation of two violin scrolls, with a plain white back ground, or a background better suited to focus on the scrolls, I would cheerfully buy a copy, frame it, and hang it.

That's a great photo Amori.

If I could have some of the the wrinkles airbrushed out, and some hair ADDED, I'd consider posting posting one of me at my workbench also.

Actually I just cleaned the shop, so, I'll try to get one posted Tuesday, IF I can get my graphics program working.

I'm always more interested in seeing what face goes with what name, even if I DO scrutinize the workbench closely also.

Yes I do. I'm currently working on putting up an online store to make it convenient. You can see an example by following the various links here:

http://violinbridgeworks.com/TheStore/StoreFrontAll.htm

or go directly to an example of the actual store here:

http://violinbridgeworks.com/TheStore/

I put some of the pages from the actual store that I'm working on there for the purpose of asking people to see if they encountered any problems while going through the pages with their various browsers and operating systems. I encountered a problem with the iMac G5 which I got fixed and would still be interested to know if anyone encouters any other problems.

Only a handful of the bridges are shown there and duplicates are shown for the "high quality" bridges while all the images shown there are examples of the "medium" quality. The picture of the "heart" bridge is missing one of the cutouts. Anyhow, I'll let everyone here know when you can start buying them online.

Someone recently said to me that I remind them of a "slow moving train" - I always get where I'm going, but it usually takes me a while to get there.

Put your photo somewhere on the web (you can't just have it on your computer unless your computer is a webserver).

Copy the url into your post where you want the picture to appear.

Put {img} in front of the url and {/img} after it, for example {img}http://some-site.com/photos/my_bench.jpg{img} but use square brackets around the 'img' and '/img', not curly ones. I used curly ones so that Maestronet's software wouldn't think I'm really putting in an image and 'helpfully' eat the tags.

Hope that helps.
