Anybody out there study with (or have any experiences with) this teacher/violin soloist? I know he's a pretty big thing at New England Conservatory, and I'm thinking about studying him this summer or next year. I'm hoping that somebody on this board will be able to offer a few comments or general advice about him-particularly about his nature as a teacher. Thanks-KM

I attended Professor Buswell's wonderful solo concert at Jordan Hall last year. He played Ysaye Sonata and three Paganini Caprices with his Strad. Many of his students are top students at NEC. I heard good things about him. He is becoming a legend at the Conservatory.

I observed a master class with him awhile ago. He had valid things to say, and didn't berate the students. He has a strong Galamian background, so that is what he teaches. If you are in the Galamian camp, you would probably like him very much.
