bridge measurements

I don't know what "medium" is but I know that bridges make a big difference in the sound of the instrument. The question I have is how do you pick the right person to make (fit) your new bridge?

I have a bridge that sounds really good on my violin. Through the years, it had been criticized by three different violin makers though. After they showed me the finer points of other bridges, I could tell that the feet were a little too thin and the waist too wide. They each said that they could fit a bridge that would make my violin sound even better, and in all cases, after making a new bridge, each admitted that their bridge didn't sound as good as my original. Odd, huh?
