Hello! This violin is the one I currently play on the daily, and it has been in the family for quite some time. Nobody seems to quite know where it came from and was wondering if there was any chance it might be authentic. Apologies for my poor photogaphy skills. In order to reduce glare off the violin I took most of he photos in a darker enviornment with a higher brightness, which is why the colors are look off to me. It's much more saturated and richer in person- the second photo of the front and back is a better reperesentation of that. Thank you all!

Hello, everyone. I recently purchased this violin with the intent of resorting it back to playing condition. But, I’m not entirely sure what it is. I was hoping that some of the experts on here might be willing to help me identify its provenance and age.

violin identifcation Authenticating Joseph Guarnerius violin 174?
ManuelEV posted a topic in The Pegbox
Hi, My my brother in law family discover some months ago that they have a violin that has the label Joseph Guarnerius inside, it belongs to their grand father and seems to be for several years in a closet in the old house. The label cites a 174 but is missing the last number and it lacks the word "Germany". Im attaching some pictures so maybe somebody with experience and knowledge can help us to take an initial look on them and let us know if is worth to take it to a competent appraiser. A little bit of history, this violin came when the family brought some farm tractors and other machines from Europe at that time (not known exactly when), it was a gift for one of the kids, since then it has been in different hands but always in the family. The violin has sentimental value and I don't think they want to sell it, but we are curious about this. -
I recently found a violin, but it has no label to identify it. I was wondering of anyone can give me an idea of country/area of origin, quality, age, and price. I think I took enough picture to identify it, but please let me know if you need any more pictures of any particular part of the instrument.
