I purchased this violin in a lot that contained mostly beginner or old German violins in various states of repair, so I have plenty of rain to doubt this this is an instrument that fetches the sort of price that Marchetti violins go for. Am I right or is this a diamond in the rough?

Hi erudite members, It will be great to hear your opinions on my violin labelled to be made by Charles Poncin in Brussles. What do you think about the authenticity of the label and the workmanship of the violin ? Thanks a lot in advance! Satanik

Hi all, I got an auction violin that's made by a maker named Giuseppe Triolo from Torino. The violin is made in 1982, with violin having a label with handwritten signature on it. The violin also comes with maker's certificate and a violin case of the maker(a brass label of his name). However, there's not much information available about him. He seems to be known for making mandolin(http://flumini.blogspot.com/2011/07/liuteria-e-giuseppe-triolo.html). I am curious if anyone has more information about this maker and wondering if the violin holds a good value as Cremona is the name that I heard most when people talked about Italian violins. I am quite new to all the knowledge about violin apart from playing it so it would be great if anyone could give me some clue. Thanks in advance!

So I had bought this violin a few years ago and am still trying to hunt down a maker for the new owner of this violin who has not been able to track down who made it either, David Stone, Chris Reuning,Warren & Sons have looked at the instrument and said it’s Italian but no maker came to mind just looking for opinions because I’ve done just about all the research I can do
