Hi Someone told me before: Suzuki violin considered the last choice for a factory violin and not recommended at all. Question here :-\ 1- is this true? 2- if yes, does that mean it is terrible violin i shouldn't think of? Or no, not that bad.. it will work And thank you so much

Hi, I'm considering trying out the Suzuki Method for violin. I have Book 1 already, I just need to figure out a good practice routine. I have a teacher who is familiar with Suzuki, but lets me play whatever I want. I have 20+ years of previous music experience, so my general music theory is pretty good I just want to know what people who have done Suzuki or teach Suzuki would recommend for a daily structured (possibly timed) practice routine. I usually practice between 1 and 2 hours every day.

I am curious of the experience any of these members may have had with Suzuki auditions and training. I've toyed with the idea, but there really isn't that much information about it online, aside what they have on their website. I know I have to record myself playing one of the pieces they list and submit it, but is it really that simple? If I can play the piece(s), is it pretty much a guarantee I'll pass? Who is it that judges-fellow teachers, Suzuki board members, judge panels, etc...? I have asked them a few questions, but they are very very vague and just basically say "submit it and if you don't pass you can pay more and retry". There isn't much discussion about it on their website- I've looked, and I've wondered if there's not much discussion because that's intentional. Has anyone else had experience with this? I'm scared about paying money for something so secretive! Thanks for your insight!
