  1. This is the real deal. Looking for a buyer or best auction site.
  2. Good Day from Argentina to everyone! I have a question worthy of this wise Community... What do you know about violins with this shape? How much would this violin go for? And finally an ignorant question I assume myself: Does oil varnish ever get this dark naturally or is it completely deliberate? "Presumably German around 1930s - the label is in our opinion not authentic. Please listen to the video/soundfile & click on the image to see all detailed XXL photos below as part of the description!Finely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. This beautiful violin shows no open cracks or open seams. Medium to fine grained spruce front and beautiful 1-piece maple back. The violin was completely revised by our luthier and checked on playability by our violin player. In our workshop it received new ebony pegs, ebony tailpiece, ebony chinrest, a new bridge and new strings. Beautiful rare instrument in immediate playing condition! Please listen to the sound ! Measures aprox.: total 60 cm / 23.6", body 36,4 cm / 14.3", vibrating chord length 33,5 cm / 13.2", weight 475 gr / ~16.75 oz." https://www.old-violin.com/rare.html A little more info: In Argentina we are still in full lockdown and I have by the grace of a higher being chosen to learn to play the VIOLIN, and couldn´t be happier. I´m done with Suzuki level 1 on a cheap chinese violin and Luthier Violin making is becoming more interesting by the minute! Thank you in advance, The Argentine Schindler
  3. Hello my name is Adrian. I have a stradivarius violin, it is very rare, it has a saying on the back imitating a flower, the material is very similar to nacre. If you could help me to discover the origin of this magnificent instrument. Thank you so much.
  4. I have a large pile of old wood , antique forms and violin making materials , violin and viola patterns from the estate of a violin maker from Crimea . i have attached photos of the contents of the boxes laid out on my studio floor. I know very little about these objects , except that they are quite old and quite beautiful. Can anyone enlighten me ? thank you .
  5. Hello Everyone firstly i am new to this forum so i apologise if this is in the wrong place i recently came across these two antique Violin Bows, one is a Tourte branded one which i showed to some freinds and they thought it was of a very good quality. it measures 67.5cms long and it weighs 50grams including hair and grip which i understand is very light for a bow, it is also octagonal all the way down the shaft if anyone could help me ID this that would be great the other one is a round shaft non branded bow which measures approx 72cms long and weighs 56 grams Tourte 1 Tourte 2 unmarked 1 unmarked 2 thanks in advance steven
  6. I have recently inherited an old violin from my Grandmother. It was originally restored in 1938 by "Eugene Knowles" and restored again a few years ago. It almost identically resembles some of the "Violins of Hope" that have been restored by Amnon Weinstein. I am not sure of the original maker of the violin or the year it was made. Could this be of any real value? Please take a look at the link I have here to see pictures of the violin. Thank you ! http://norfolk.craigslist.org/msg/3640571666.html Best Regards, Dave Bell
