This is my moms old violin that she inherited from her grandpa a long time ago. I am wondering if it is authentic and if it is, what is its value? (Not looking to sell just curious of my family history)

Hello! I recently purchased a violin from an estate sale & I was wondering if you could help me identify it’s age & if it’s a Stainer copy. The violin was repaired in 1919, so I don’t believe that it’s a German factory copy from the late 1800s or early 1900s, however I could be wrong. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Question: The NMM Stainer nut is 6mm closer to the scroll than the heel of the pegbox. This appears to be the same on some other Stainers (like the one Roger wrote about). So the question is, for a modern setup, leave it, or adjust the pattern so the nut and heel line up?
