I was reading the recent thread on gluing cracks with pillar blocks where several people advocated gluing longer cracks in sections. While I have done this I am always concerned about getting enough glue into the areas adjacent to where the crack is already closed. Even using slower setting glues like 192 or isinglass I think there must be areas the glue cannot penetrate which could lead to the crack eventually opening or even some sort of tonal deficit. Am I right to be concerned or is this just something to be accepted as the best of available options. I'd appreciate other opinions on this.
