Hello, I have another bow. The frog and lower part of the stick are made in the Vuillaume style. The frog and button are silver. Underslide on the frog is nickel with two pins. Button with a 3 silver pins(one is missed) .Could this be a French JTL-type bow?

Good afternoon to all. I was wondering if anyone could clarify a doubt I have. Alfred A Acoulon I believe was a partner with the JTL firm in Paris just before the 1st world war. But he was a a fine luthier in his own right. Did he also make bows before he joined the JTL firm? The reason I am asking this is that the bows stamped A Acoulon à Paris were a product of the JTL firm and could have been made by any one of the archetiers working at the time. My example has a full * ALFRED A ACOULON A PARIS" It is handsome bow with good wood and plays very well. I am wondering whether it was indeed made by Alfred Acoulon. Many thanks in advance

Hi, Since getting a new grip for this bow, I've noticed a dent appear that I don't think was there before: Is this a concern for the value of the bow or for the condition? Does it need to repaired in some way or have a new grip put on? Bow is JA Lamy

Dear friends, I recently acquired for my own use as a player this fine bow. Apparently it is a Morizot Père but I would like your expert opinion. I have to say after 22 years I have never found a bow that that draws such a rich plethora of colours from my Luigi Azzola violin. I intend to keep this for myself as it's playing qualities are second to none. Many thanks in advance.

Nicolas Maline frog in pristine condition, looking for the rest Is there any possibility of finding something like that in the instrument world? I am open to a legitimate pairing of sorts for a mutual increase in value. Contact please.

Hello, I recently bought some old but unbranded bows. I wonder if anyone would know if it is French, English or German.

Hi everyone, Here you have some pictures of a violin bow a find very nice in all aspects (playing too) and it´s suppossed to be french. Please let me know what do you see from pictures since I´m just starting to study and see bows not only from a playing point of view. From my still great ignorance in bow aesthetic and constructive aspects I have some thoughts on this bow but I'd really like to hear from you. I see relevant: the kind and appearance of wood, top of head, nose, number of pins on both frog and button, rounded frog... What more should I look at? Many thanks!
