I am from Egypt and our currency equals 0.058 USD. to afford 800 USD "at least for a good reasonable factory violin", means more than 14,000 pounds and this is a very big deal for an amateur" not professional violinst" So i now started to think of electric violins also i'm a big fan of acoustic.. SO WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN THE ELECTRIC VIOLIN OR HOW I EXAMINE QUALITY OF MATERIAL BEFORE SOUND? and thx thx so much

I realize beauty is in the eye (and ear and mind) of the beholder, but I feel I'm missing something when everyone agrees that a given instrument is beautiful, and I'm not quite seeing what they're talking about. What are the details to look for that makes a violin beautiful vs. not? For example; I can see differences between different styles of well-made f-holes...but frankly, they all look pretty much alike to me. None stands out as being more beautiful or less so. I can see differences in varnish colour and finish...but I have my own favourites so I'm quite biased there. I can see the slight differences in shape between Amatis, Strads, del Gesu...but I like the look of all of them. I can see the differences in scrolls, but again, unless they're very odd...they all look good. Etc. All opinions welcomed!
