So, my son (the cellist) wants “a bit more” out of his cello’s color and projection, so we tried several different positions. It was originally set 7mm behind the A side foot, so we pushed it out to 9mm, 11mm, 13mm then compared 7mm to 13mm to make sure our ears were not acclimating in the process... no difference whatsoever. At all three distances the post is perfectly flush with top and bottom plates, and the tightness was comfortable, not too tight, not too loose. How can this be!?
