  1. How on earth did three of these pop up? My computer finger pad is sticky and I kept hitting it, thinking its not working, not realizing it already posted. The other day I accidentally pulled the laptop off the table by tripping on the charging cord, and it hit the floor on the keyboard with a might crash. Things have not been working quite right ever since, especially with the finger pad. Guess I need a new computer, this one's living on borrowed time.
  2. I always wondered about that ad, as far as I know I've never sold an instrument in England, or anywhere in Europe for that matter.

  5. You need to assault the ears of those old folk with some good Canadian Rock, like Nickleback or Bachman Turner Overdrive.
  6. Google does it. I get ebay listings that I looked at yesterday. I often will click on those listings and go back and revisit what's offered. Google knows that if they do it enough, it works, and might sell something.
  7. Puppy teeth can be very destructive, and vocalizations can also be a bit of a problem. When my current black lab shepherd mix was a cute little puppy I noticed he would howl whenever anyone played a violin or viola. I thought this was cute so I encouraged it with a treat. Now as a big dog he lets loose with long, mournful howls whenever a customer comes to try out an instrument-it's so bad I have to put him in the car in my detached garage to hide the noise. I don't know whether its painful to his ears, or he is just hoping for a treat, but its darned inconvenient. That may be slightly better than my last dog, who once used the bare leg of a customer dressed in a summer dress and sandals as a fire hydrant, or Patches the cat, that under the guise of wanting a nice little pet on the back, would suddenly jump up and box the ears of whoever leaned down to pet him.
  8. I also learned it from Prier and Kapfhammer.
  9. My that's tough. Ed, I've enjoyed your humorous responses to some of my irrelevant posts, so I hope you get over it soon.
  10. Jocko died at the age of 34, I'm assuming of old age (1980-2014). There is still an existing facebook page from The Chimneys Violin Shop with a history until its closing in the "Our Story" paragraph: https://www.facebook.com/The-Chimneys-Violin-Shop-588404074583555/?tn-str=k*F If you go there you can learn many interesting things about this shop. From the page:
  11. I was puzzled by who Jocko might be, but an internet search brought up a still active facebook page, and there he is!
  12. It looks like real estate in that area is very affordable.
