  1. I can only tell you that your violin is the double of mine, with the exception that it is dated 1894. The labels are slightly different which leads me to believe they were done individually and not batch printed. Special thanks to Nathan for the website address.
  2. I have a violin labeled Heinr, Fitcheimer, Berlin 1894. I have unable to find any information about this maker in old German records. If the label is authentic, this violin is an excellent example of a very beautiful and well made violin. It is obviously not made by an amateur. What little information I have been able to piece together is that it may have been in the hands of a deceased Texas luthier and then given to a Mississippi luthier, who kept it in a closet for 17 years. If anyone can help me trace the labeled maker, I would appreciate the help.
  3. I read with great interest your training with Agapito Acosta. I have been trying to find information about him concerning a Joseph Guarneris violin he repaired in 1983. If you were training with him in that time period perhaps you know something about the history of this violin? It was owned by a lady who played in the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. It is a beautiful instrument and I am trying to write a history of this violin. Any help you can give me will be very helpful. Hoping to hear from you, thanks
