  1. I hope this helps.. https://www.lashofviolins.com/string-identification.htm
  2. I have a 1923 Roth with the block letter label and without a brand. According to Wilhelm Roth, "This instrument was made by the Ernst Heinrich Roth I in his workshop in Markneukirchen, year 1923 At that time there were no serial numbers and brand stamp, because my grand-grand- father starts with the numbers and brand stamp in the middle of the year 04.06.1924
  3. One of these "Julian A Lapinski" violins just showed up in my shop. It is stamped at least twice inside of the violin, but also bears the label "Domenicus Montagnana sub signo cremonae venetia". Wondering if any of the other Lapinski violins have labels in addition to the stamps...? This one has a one-piece, slab-cut back.
