  1. I spend about $5000 every three years on hearing aids. They do not equal natural hearing. Good audiologists are hard to find. Always be prepared to return them within the legal time limit. Have found that solo practitioners with themselves and family to support are the best. Ask around.
  2. Recently got my first violin. A 1939 Gibson V15. The dealer threw in a CFX carbon fiber bow. The bow made the violin very loud, with a bad tone. Tried a Codabow Luma. It was a 200% improvement. The violin was Gibson's cheapest student violin. With the Luma the tone is good enough to get me through the first year of study and maybe more.
  3. Have an Arc Verona Pat. xxxxxxxx cello bow. It is my favorite. Think I got it from Johnson Strings. It was not cheap.
