Over the next year or so, the musical instrument room at the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art is undergoing renovations. During that time, the entire collection is closed. I found three violins that are on temporary exhibit during this time hidden away in room 500. Here they are captured with my iPhone, hopefully this average camera and average lighting might present these in a "new light." I was told by a lady at one of the information desks that the lighting "will not be improved" when the wing reopens. Let's wait and see...
Photos I took of each instrument on display that was part of the Sau-Wing Lam Collection of Rare Italian Stringed Instruments. Metropolitan Museum of Art June 2013.
