  1. Hmm...didn't think of that. I'll make sure I do that then. Thanks
  2. heh, it's been a while sense I posted here.... But anyway, I got a summer job "teaching" a kid Violin who is in his first year playing. Now, mind you, I've only been playing for about three years now and have never taught Violin before. But in my eyes I'm only going to be 'tutoring' him. (keeping him from forming bad habbits ect.) Although I feel up to it, I feel that I might miss something teaching-wise. So can any of you give me some teaching advise? -thanks
  3. I know this question has been asked WAYYY too many times ...but what brands of Strings for Violin are good?
  4. Indeed...I am using steel strings....and the strings that break are usually the A and E......
  5. they all seem to be breaking at the scroll..........any suggestions?
  6. Greetings noahmyviolin!..hope you enjoy your stay!...indeed...Joshua Bell seems to be a very good Violinist....and a favorite of many....
  7. Heh...thanks.....I think it's because I draw my bow to heavy when I play insanely fast songs...........so I guess I'll bow lighter from now on....
  8. To me, breaking strings is the most annoying part of playing the violin........sometimes I really get into one of my fast insane songs, and SNAP! there goes a string......maybe its me...or maybe I'm just getting cheep strings..or both....is there a durable brand of Violin strings?....and by the way...how often do you guys break strings?
  9. Ohh..at Carnegie Hall...indeed..a very exciting event.....(I wonder how much those tickets were...)..
  10. I feel so uneducated....I never heard of most of those Violinists.....
  11. This question may have been asked before.....but I'm new so I don't know.........Anyway...I was just wondering who is your favorite Violinist is....mine is...(hmm... tough decision) Mark O'Connor....I really like his music..........
  12. For quiet practice I use a Yamaha (I use it for everything, really) and it seems to be quiet enough to not disturb the people in my house...(although with my experience playing, I hope people would want to hear me play) other than that..........you can practice outside in your 40 acre farm in the middle of nowhere.....it can be quite peaceful actually..........
