I think I understand what traditional means, and I can see why you wouldn't want to use carbon fiber bows because they aren't traditional. What I don't understand is the remark that carbon fiber bows can be used for modern music but not for traditional repertoire because they would lack focus, articulation and quality. If carbon fiber bows lack these qualities, I don't understand why they can be used for modern music. Are focus, articulation and quality less important for modern music in your opinion?

I would think lack of focus, articulation and quality is equally problematic in modern music as it is is traditional repertoire.

I'm looking for a good bending iron for violin. Someone is offering an old Gewa bending iron (with green base) for €500. I know these old Gewa bending irons are considered to be quite good, but €500 still seems a bit much. Do you think this is a reasonable price or are there better options (new or used) for €500 or less?

Pusch style tailpieces have notches for the strings, but I guess this is more a feature of the built-in finetuners than a feature of the tailpiece's fret (which is not really used because of the finetuners).

When two media dissolve each other or when they are miscible, it is very difficult to say anything about the volume proportions based on what you see in the resulting mixture/solution such as in your vial. In my opinion, the only possible way of referring to volume proportions in such cases is to refer to the volumes before mixing. Something like "2 teaspoons of water were added to 1 teaspoon of glue".

Where are you and the dealer located? Johannes Cuypers violins are quite popular in the Netherlands, so you might be able to sell quicker through a Dutch dealer.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly. Do you mean that if you make a varnish using 100g colophony and 100g linseed oil, you would add another 200g of cooked colophony for color (obtained from 1kg uncooked colophony) and 200g linseed oil? That sounds like a lot! Or would you add 40g of cooked colophony (obtained from 200g uncooked colophony) and 40g linseed oil?
