  1. thanks for the info. any other books people recommend?
  2. Hi all, I have always been interested in learning more about the work of luthiers and how instruments are made and repaired as well as knowledge on violin makers. My question is... Where do I start? I don't currently have knowledge in these areas so I need to start small. Any info is appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Unfortunately mine has a crack in the back from the sound post but on the good side it has already been repaired by the previous owner
  4. Hi all, I recently acquired a cello from an auction. I play the violin but I thought it might be fun to try the cello and I ended up getting the cello for very cheap. I took it to my local luthier to find out if it is even worth getting playable and he told me that the cello is very old and is an interesting piece because it has both front and back made out of spruce. Does anyone else have any experience or information on a cello like this? just curious. Thanks!
