  1. Thanks Brad. Philip mentioned 48g, but it's actually 49g, so I would assume it will end up at either 59 or 60. Phillip, I was also wondering if the offset pin was significant but I would assume if it was somebody would have recognized it and commented.
  2. Here are a couple pictures of the nipple:
  3. Just wondering if anyone can give me any insight on this bow. Nicely made, no pins in button, pins in underside, pin on the back of the frog is not centered, it's off set to the left. 49g as it sits. Thank you in advance for any input!
  4. Please note that there are a couple of spellings of his last name which seemed to have been used by the maker.
  5. That is about the same time that all of my links to the various discussions disappeared from the homepage....
  6. I think Brad covered most of it except the varnish. Most MA’s have a softer and less gloss in the varnish. To me this looks like a mid grade, and may pass for a standard “Juzek”. From what I’ve seen, the nicer master art instruments are very comparable to the nicer Roth’s....they also look like the Karl Hermann Morelli fiddles (mine has a Made in Czechoslovakia brand)
  7. I have had a few Juzek Master Arts...and this one is not the same quality.
  8. You can see them on the interior....they’re real!
  9. I used to cut gems and have glasses similar to these: https://www.amazon.com/Qooltek-Headband-Magnifying-Interchangeable-0-2-10-2/dp/B078JPRH2Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=jewelers+glasses&qid=1560641598&s=gateway&sr=8-3
  10. You cursed your violin by removing it!
  11. Hendrik, I think you’ll find it was meant as humor.
  12. This is as labeled, but as BF mentioned they use a mix of Mirecourt and others....and relabel and doctor/upgrade others. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163720144728
  13. I think that has been discussed on here numerous times and it is a combination between what they feel it is worth and what the seller feels it’s worth. If an item only has one interested bidder then it goes cheap. If there are two people with deep pockets that want something bad then the price goes way up beyond the estimate.
  14. Would love a link to Rogers article if you come across it again. I am no expert but am trying to learn what I can. I have never heard of any instruments made with an inside mold that did not have corner blocks, so I would be very interested in reading the article. Thanks
  15. If it was made with an inside mould wouldn’t it have corner blocks from the git-go?
  16. I just had an English fiddle arrive in multiple pieces thanks to it being shipped in a holster case, covered with tape and not even placed in a box....some peoples kids.
  17. I saw this on eBay, don’t walk...RUN
  18. A picture is worth 1000 words.....
  19. Bobelock half-moon cases, can store 4-5 Bon musicas. I like my quality older cases but have started to use these to store quite a few. Good case for the money.
  20. You are more apt to find it if you publicly post the maker and number! Photos would be even better!
