About Me
My mother was an excellent pianist and my father is a violin maker.
I started with piano then moved to violin and viola. After the basics at Purcell School I went on to the Guildhall School of Music in London. My teachers included Emanuel Hurwitz, John White, and Detlef Hahn. This training and work as a musician has given me a real love, insight, and practical understanding of the instruments I make.
In 1996 I apprenticed as a violin maker to Nigel Harris for two years. Then followed a further three years of intensive study at the Newark school of violin making.
I use top quality air dried European tonewood.
