  1. Hi! My name is Zoe and I have recently created a web site about the art of luthiery. I would really appreciate it if anyone would visit it and contribute some constructive criticism under my "Stradivari Seminar" tab. Also, if you have any questions about my web site please feel free to post those, too. Thanks!
  2. I agree that individual taste determines a lot about what violins they prefer. However, I also know the reason why many luthiers strive to achieve the quality of Stradivari's violins- they have such a great sound that everybody can appreciate them. That is what I am looking for, which is a lot for someone who is still in high school. I am not doing this for myself, but in order to help out my fellow luthiers.
  3. By best I mean best tonal quality.
  4. What country/location is the best place to get violin wood according to climate?
  5. What reputable wood suppliers are the best to go to in order to get the best violin woods possible?
  6. For a school project I chose to study how a violin is made and what materials can be put together to create the ideal violin. What scientific factors are best in violin maple and spruce (i.e. tightness of grain, weight of wood, climate, etc.)?
  7. Hi! My name is Zoe. For a high school project, I have decided to conduct an experiment on how to create the ideal violin. One of my topics deals with the violin’s varnish. What ingredients can be used to create the best possible varnish (both spirit and oil)? " font-size: 12.0pt;">
