  1. No big whoop - but anybody have any opinions on this Post WWII (maybe) Italian (maybe) violin (for sure!)? 280010351998
  2. Don't miss the sequel: "Son Of Heinrich Thedor!" (And, by the way, what do you think of it!) ebay 230008429596
  3. Master Art? Or Master-Klunker? 110012529191
  4. Worth a look, for a yuck . . . 290006089066
  5. I recently bought a Jacobus Hornsteiner violin, which has a label identical to that in this recent ebay cello: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 EXCEPT that it has "Germany" stamped in (by separate stamp with different ink) in the space directly under the griffin's feet. (Assuming the label is genuine), anybody care to venture a guess at a date?
  6. That's gotta be worth something! http://cgi.ebay.com/Very-Old-Vintage-Violi...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. All right--so I'm exceeding my P.P.D. (posts per day) limit: BUT since the purpose of this forum is primarily to educate (and amuse?) I can't help but bring some attention to the first Heberlein "lint ball" auction that I have seen! (Please forgive copy-and-paste-link!) http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-violin-lint-ba...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. OK - from various internet sources, it looks like Jacobus Hornsteiner was one of the trade names used by the E.H Roth shop, but that perhaps there were different quality levels within the Hornsteiner line. Mr. Reutinger describes this one as having a label with "an ornate border and a strange winged/footed creature in the center." Has anyone out there run into such a Hornsteiner label--and does it give a hint as to the quality of workmanship? The Seller is effusive in his praise thereof--but then, I tried to impress my wife when we were courting, too! http://cgi.ebay.com/Fine-Old-Antique-1930-...1QQcmdZViewItem (Sorry - I haven't figured out how to insert a direct link yet! Please copy and paste into your browser line.)
  9. I don't get out much--but you guys do! As to this one from Chris Reutinger--any comments, analysis, opinions, etc.? (scathing or otherwise?!) http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Old-Antique-1820s...1QQcmdZViewItem
