  1. : Am looking for Bach Sonatas for violin & piano (not unaccompanied). Do any publishers in the states put this out? I have an edition sitting atop my piano right this moment, as a matter of fact... it's a Dover publication (bad news for your pianist...these editions are notoriously difficult to keep open:), Library of Congress #78-54301. The complete title on front reads: Johann Sebastian Bach WORKS FOR VIOLIN The complete Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccom. violin The 6 Sonatas for Violin and Clavier (From the Bach-Gesellschaft Edition) (Includes a nice color mug of JS on the front:) Wonderfully free of editorial obfuscation, 1978 $9.95 !! Good luck...

  3. My parents have a violin that has Joseph Klotz, Mittenwald, 1795 stamped in the interior. I found a little about the family. Can someone tell me the "ballpark" value of this violin?
  4. My parents have a violin with "Joseph Klotz" stamped on the interior of the violin and 1795 as the date. There is also a town in Germany stamped in the interior. I would appreciate any information on Klotz and the possible value of the violin.
  5. My son is 10 years old and has hodgkin's disease. He has overcome his illness(thanks to some wonderful doctors) but he really wants to play the violin. Our life savings are gone but we really want to give our child the chance to do what he really wants to do,and that is to play the violin. If there is anyone out there with a 3/4 size violin that is very cheap or even free please contact me.Thank you and God bless!
  6. : I received a violin as a gift. It has the name "H. Siegler" inside and it is made in China : I have been told by several people, my instructor included, : that Chinese violins are bad. Does anyone know anything : about this violin? Now that I've found out how bad they really are, what, if anything, can I do to it to make it better? Will new strings help? I have been trying to play it but even as a beginner, I can tell it doesn't sound right. Please help as I am sort of stuck with it! (I got it from my mother-in-law.)

  8. : I´m very interested indeed. I´m willing to pay lots of cash for it if it´s real. Could I see it? I have a Stradivarius dated 1736, I believe.....it is NOT in good condition at all, but the label can be clearly seen....what might this be worth?
