  1. Best Fingerboards today are from Juergen Klier in Premium Quality. Price is 27 Euro for Violin www.klier-josef.de/index_us.html From Dictum it is absolute not recommendable.

  3. Today annonced in the Newspaper he made 846 Instruments! Opus 500 was in 1985.
  4. One of the best german and famous Violinmaker of Mittenwald, Josef Kantuscher has past away some days ago in the age of near 92. Josef Kantuscher was famous for his unique personality. Won prices in Liege 1957, Roma 1959 Posen 1962 Jury member of many Competitions. His models for Violin, Viola and Cello were self-constructed. Oustanding consistency in his Instruments wich count over 600.
  5. Davide, you went down to 62gr. with a Density of 0.40 ? Your Spruce must be very stiff along the grains to keep up 373 Hz in M5. Or I am wrong?

  10. As on many parts on the Violin or Cello, the results are important, not the performance how it was done. Or we all use f- hole template because our eyes will never reach the level to work without? But I see David do it also without a jig.
  11. Does anybody use that holder or something else to keep the Bridges perfect 90 degree on the tailpiecesite during the fitting on the Top? This one is using by the makers of the Yamaha company, and is clamp and fixed to the Body. Never have seen this or others before.
  12. Unfortunaly there is no Plexiglas wich filters or blocking IR but not UV-light if both coming from natural sunlight. What are the 3 black dots on the Necksurface?
  13. How much effect does the shape of the upper and lower blocks on sound? Does wider size include an smooth transition from the Blocks into the Ribs a positive effect? (Cornerfree).
  14. I still believe it is a contamination problem. "Hammerl color extract" could be one. Don´t us any Sandpaper with Siliziumcarbit.

  16. The gray color on the back corners and partly on the edges is excellent. Very nice transition from the other ground color. Look fantastic!
  17. I think Davide and some others are right. The Thinner from OldWood is not really turpentine. The smell is for me unknown. This problem in the varnish can be also come from too much sikkativ, chemical fluid colors, wrong brushcleaner wich produce contamination. (This one from OldWood is really good). Try to apply the varnish thin as possible without/ or less thinner. A stiffer Brush can be useful.
