  2. Hello Michael, you are not far from me. I am just 70km south Munich. I have seen this Product last year in Cremona at Mondomusica. I was not overrolled by entusiasm. There is nothing new or away from anything what we all allready know and tried out.
  3. Shocking news for the violinmaking world, students, and musicians. Italian Violinmaker Luca Primon past away after a short illness yesterday in a hospital in his hometown Trento. Born in Trento, in 1952.Stusied music at the conservator there.Between 1974 and 1979 he studied violin- making under Maestro Renato Scrollavezza at the Conservatory A. Boito in Parma.Since 1980 teaches violin-making at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan.Between 1987 and 1992 he has studied on specialization courses with Maestro Jurgen Von Stietencron in Riva del Garda, Italy.In 1991 he restored together with the musicologist Marco Tiella the instruments of the "La Pietà Institute in Venice and wrote the catalogue.In 1996 the restauration course with Maestro Vahakn Nigogosian in Oberlin, U.S.A..In the 1997 Tecnology in violin- making with Maestro Edward Campbell Tucson U.S.A..Between 1989 and 1991 he has won two gold and two silver medals in both national and internal competitions of violin-making.Member of A.L.I. (italian association of professional Violin-makers), A.E.L. ( European association of violin-makers) and E.I.L.A. (Entente Internationale des Maitres Luthiers et Archetiers d'art).In 2000, Founder member of the "Contemporary Milanese violin-makers".In 2001, Founder member of "Parma violin-makers association".He lives and works in Milan.   5. The Tailpiece is from Knut Tempel in figured Boxwood. I fummed it to became a bid darker.

  7. Yes Bruce you are right with the different size of the hands and players taste. It´s not only the string spacing, also the wide of the fingerboard, edge- and neckshape /thickness. I took this out of "The Strad" Trade secret by Andrew Finnigan (Nov. 2013 page 78)

  9. I use it too. But never had any problems with it. All adjusted right? but with bad Rosewood i know it could be a Problem. Nothing is perfect.

  11. Good Idea David! I will try this way to see the Scroll from the Messiah and futhermore from your winning viola just steps away. But I am affraid it ends up in the way bellow when carry in a empty milk carton wich have clear visible holes.
