  1. Thank you! No, nothing of disappointing. Murnau is the Bora-Bora of upper Bavaria haha....
  2. Try to get the photos from the Triennale on a file. Guess it will looks different as mine I took. The scroll template is just simple from a Strad Cello. (Not remember exactly). However…. Customer is happy thats the way.
  3. Long time i didn´t post anymore. But here it comes the Cello i have entered to the Triennale in Cremona. (No... not reach the final) (Tailpiece of course came up closer to Bridge after Photoshot. And.... the F-hole are a bid too straight. You all think so?
  4. Here another example of Strad Cello "Servais" from 1701. It looks like heavier stained and lesser poor-filled compare to others.
  5. And exiting the big difference to J.B. Vuillaume.
  6. I can`t copy here parts of the Book, but sure they did a great job. The examination methods are described in detail in the introduction. Bellow Daylight and Fluorescence from the Top of A. Strad. Cello "Bonamy Dobreè, Suggia" 1717.
  7. Yes for sure, or i come to visit you in your workshop. I am always amazed at the differences between Brandmair and the books of the Swiss Association of Violin Makers "Old Master Violins - Alte Meistergeigen", 7 Bände) which were published at the end of the 1970s. According to this, Stradivari did not stain the wood or colored it in any other way. The investigation always begins with "staining - none, pore filler - dull brown". When the wood is stained, it is always fluorescent extinguishing what we cannot see in the originals.
  8. Unfortunately no booth this year at the Fair. But i come as a visitor for 3 day´s. I think we miss the Exhibition at the Via Mercatello with Wine and Food this year? Yes i participate first time at the Triennale with a Cello. I let me surprise....
  9. You welcome Davide. See us next month? I am experimenting as everybody here. But sorry, no Casein on it. But exiting how it looks in 300 years.
  10. I think it is Calcium-Hydroxide as Davide use it That`s right as we see on the most Strad`s. )Photo of the Back "King George 1710". And note the bright "Mirrors" in the Flames. Today we see just the opposite by using Water-stain or chemical treatments with a resulting quenching of the fluorescence.
  11. Just wondering how it works to glue a Cello back in a Sauna.
  12. Luca Primon, unfortunally he past away 4 years ago. The decorated spanish Cello.
  13. I have been shipping my instruments internationally to different countries for a long time. Always with FedEx. Yes, I have a discount with FedEx, but I think with "Priority" it will cost around $ 600. Just call and ask for the prices. For shipping I never use a case but the special cardboard boxes from the "Hausberger" company. There was never been any damage.
  14. In contemporary Violin making there is nothing exist of "perfection" or "nicest". And it has nothing to do with the country either. Many things are a question of taste if it comes to "personality". You named 6 out of 180 today`s Cremonese makers. Well there are many more who make first Range Instruments even if they never get a medal hung around their necks.
  15. This CNC is not really Homade. But how many Scrolls you carve by your own Hand till all is set-up perfectly to compare?
  16. Amazing. Could it work for Cello too?
  17. I not understand this. Never had any of this problems. Weak glue joints are most a result of a bad joint not of a bad glue.
  18. I personal use the glue from company Schilbach. So far the best on the market. There are two kind available with different characteristics. Both are cleaned and have "Medicinestandart". Anything penetrates the Wood is nearly invisible. https://www.shop-schilbach.net/epages/79837849.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectPath=%2FShops%2F79837849%2FProducts%2F810195 Specially purified Excellent adhesive properties Gel strength 60-120g Bloom Viscosity 1,80-2,70mPas PH* 5,00-6,00 Transmission** 620nm >=85% Transmission** 450nm >=60% https://www.shop-schilbach.net/epages/79837849.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/79837849/Products/810201 Extremely clear Highly pure Extraordinary adhesive properties Gel strength> = 250g Bloom Viscosity 4.00-4.70mPas PH* 4.90.-5.20 Transmission** 620nm> = 92% Transmission** 450nm> = 78%
  19. Or anybody tried ever this way? Just pressure some sec. with your thumps. It works when Bar fitted perfect and glue is in the right consistency. (Just the Video doesn´t work)
  20. Yes I tried. They are great too. The a-string is waved too like the "e" like with Amber-Set.
  21. Can only speak from my new Violins. I tried Rondo, but still Warchal Amber is on top.
