Getting my "Book" together.

There has been a big looseleaf binder on the floor next to my favorite chair

that collects my favorite references for violin building. I has grown unmanagable.

I have decided to extract the most important that I view daily in a slimmer binder

and perhaps a folder for each current project. What's in the binder?

-Records of the density of wood I encounter.

-Data on weight of string instruments and their components.

- Excerpt for Ellen Barkers book Average measurements of string instruments.

- Several peoples takes on graduation and accoustical adjustment

- All about the bridge and it's adjustment.

-All about the bass

-Conversion charts english to metric all measures

and

-Proceedure of violin building, each step:

Task

Conditions

Standards

An unrelated part of the project I can jump to if I have a delay in the task.

-Tool list.

-Parts list and expendibles itemized arranged as purchase order.

A project folder includes

-schedule for completion.

-plans, photos, list of moulds an templates used.

-data sheet for collecting info on wood and other material used

weight of components and eventually complete instrument

description of construction, set up, problems encountered, expirements

and deviations from plan and accoustical data.

This should keep information handy, record data and keep the projects flowing.
