Description: A golden-brown violin with a two-piece back. Labelled "Antonious & Hieronymus Fr. Amati Cremonen. Andre fil. F. 1618." In case. The Bernardel certificate indicates that this instrument was once in the possession of Camillo Sivori (1815-1894) who used to play on it the Introducion and Variations from Rossini's "Mose" composed by his teacher, Paganini. Hills note in their work on Stradivari (p. 260 & 261) that Dragonetti owned a violin by the brothers Amati which was bequeathed to Sivori in Dragonetti's will.
